Lil Nas X and NBA YoungBoy have collaborated for their joint effort "Late To Da Party," created by Take A Daytrip. In the melody, Lil Nas X focuses on the 2022 BET Awards, which he got no designations during the current year.

Lil Nas X had a leading edge year with his presentation collection Montero being ensured platinum, and two hit singles, "Industry Baby" with Jack Harlow and "Montero [Call Me By Your Name]."

Wager has since answered Lil Nas X, sharing an explanation: "He [Lil Nas X] was designated for a best new craftsman BET Award in 2020, and we gladly exhibited his unprecedented ability and imagination on the show two times: He performed 'Old Town Road' with Billy Ray Cyrus at BET Awards 2019 and his BET Awards 2021 execution was a feature of our show. Nobody cheered stronger that evening than BET.
